Vodacom freemode has helped millions of South Africa Facebook users stay connected with their loved ones and friends for more than 10 years.
According to Vodacom their clients had access to use or join Facebook without being billed for data-usage for ” FB free basic version ” however clients had to use data when downloading Facebook app on Play store or Apple store.
When will fb free mode end
Its sad to say that Starting from April 9, basic mode will no longer be available on the Vodacom network on Facebook.
Nyimpini Mabunda announcement regarding the start of flex
In 2017 Nyimpini Mabunda, chief office of Vodacom’s consumer business unit, said as he was introducing Vodacom, Facebook Flex customers ,which will no longer be used to access Facebook free mode.
“Network operators like ourselves have a role to play in reducing the digital divide, particularly between those in urban and rural areas,” he said.
“In all our efforts we are mindful of the immense pressures that consumers face which are largely associated with the cost to communicate” he added.
“The popularity and the extensive use of social media services such as Facebook as a means of communication has made it a necessity rather than a luxury,” Mabunda said.
