Pharmacist Assistant Learnership overview:

The purpose of the Shoprite group learner Basic programme is to provide an individual the opportunity to learn, study, and complete their Pharmacist Assistant course at our Medirite Protea Glen branch. The individual will work under the supervision of the pharmacist and will assist with pharmacy-related administrative duties.

Education and skills

Requirements: Grade 12 qualification – Preferably Science and Mathematics as subjects.

Skills:

• Computer literacy – MS Office skills
• Good language skills – fluent in English and at least one other official language would be advantageous
• Ability to cope under pressure
• Very good interpersonal and customer skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Sound numerical skills

Responsibilities:

The Responsibilities of a Pharmacy Assistant includes:

• To Assist in dispensing medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Take prescriptions from clients in person and over the phone.
• Answering customer questions and helping them find the products they need.
