The Train Assistant supports the Train Driver in the safe and efficient operation of various types of locomotives, ensuring on-time delivery of cargo and passenger services while maintaining high safety standards.
Transnet is recruiting for the position of Train Assistant. As a Train Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring passenger safety, assisting with operations on the train, and maintaining a high level of service for all passengers. Successful candidates will join the team in Komatipoort, Nelspruit and Waterval Boven.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Physical Science.
- Other Requirements:
- Must pass medical surveillance and safety risk assessments.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and physical fitness.
- Must be at least 21 years old for train operational duties (SANS 3000 compliance).
